Former President Donald Trump has unveiled his selections for crucial homeland security and immigration positions, continuing to build his prospective administration. He nominated Rodney Scott for Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Caleb Vitello as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Tony Salisbury as Deputy Homeland Security Advisor.

Rodney Scott, a former Border Patrol chief, served in that role until his removal by the Biden administration. He has since been a vocal opponent of the current administration's border policies. Trump praised Scott's extensive experience in border security, highlighting his implementation of policies like Remain-in-Mexico and Title 42 during his tenure as the 24th Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol.

Caleb Vitello, boasting over 23 years of service with ICE, currently serves as Assistant Director of the Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs. Trump emphasized Vitello’s leadership within ICE, including his role in overseeing training and equipment to ensure officer and public safety. He also noted Vitello's experience at the White House National Security Council, where he focused on child safety and national security threats.

Tony Salisbury, currently the Special Agent in Charge for ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Miami, has a background in various leadership and field roles within ICE/HSI. Trump commended Salisbury's experience in federal law enforcement investigations, spanning areas from national security and smuggling to counter-proliferation and financial crimes. Trump stated that Salisbury would work under Stephen Miller, focusing on policy and homeland security.
