Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton is using his platform during the NFL's My Cause My Cleats initiative to shine a spotlight on Our Military Kids, a non-profit supporting children of deployed or injured military personnel. Partnering with USAA, the NFL's official Salute to Service partner, Hamilton's custom cleats represent his dedication to this important cause.
Hamilton recently spent time with children from Our Military Kids at the Ravens' facility, playing sports and engaging in meaningful conversations. He emphasized the impact these interactions had on him, highlighting the children's resilience and positive outlook despite the challenges they face. "They don't get to choose their families or their situation," Hamilton remarked, "but they make the most of it." This experience reinforced his commitment to acknowledging their sacrifices and offering support.
Hamilton's dedication extends beyond the Ravens' facility. He recounted a trip to Camp Humphreys, a U.S. Army base in South Korea, where he connected with more military families during a football camp. These experiences deepened his appreciation for the sacrifices made by service members and their families. He expressed admiration for the children's ability to adapt and maintain a positive attitude despite the inherent difficulties of military life.
The cleats, designed by Marcus Rivero (Soles by Sir), feature the Our Military Kids logo prominently on one shoe, along with an image of children playing. The other shoe showcases the various branches of the military against a purple backdrop. Hamilton is joined by several Ravens teammates, including Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman, who are also participating in My Cause My Cleats, each supporting their chosen organizations.
