A Louisiana fisherman had an unexpected encounter last week, spotting a rare pink dolphin while fishing in the Old River area of Cameron Parish. Thurman Gustin, who captured the remarkable sight on video, shared his experience with Fox Orlando. He described the moment of discovery, explaining how he paused his fishing to record the dolphin swimming just below the water's surface. Gustin noted the presence of a second dolphin nearby.

The video, briefly showing a pink fin breaking the surface, quickly gained attention after Gustin posted it to the Galveston Saltwater Fishing Facebook group. He admitted to being unaware of the significance of his sighting until the video's viral spread. This isn't the first instance of such a sighting in Louisiana. Back in 2015, a pink dolphin was observed in Calcasieu Lake, an estuary in southwestern Louisiana.

While the exact species of dolphin remains unconfirmed, albino bottlenose dolphins are known for their pinkish-white skin due to a genetic mutation, as explained by the Blue World Institute.
