A progressive activist group, Indivisible, is calling on liberals to leverage the House of Representatives' current recess to organize protests against Elon Musk and Donald Trump nationwide. The group, founded by former Democratic congressional staffers, has released a guide with suggestions for demonstrating at town halls and congressional offices during the break.
Specifically, the guide details how to "take the fight to Elon" by planning and executing demonstrations at Tesla facilities. Indivisible emphasizes this opportunity to remind representatives "who they work for" and stresses the collective effort required to "fight back against the Trump-Musk coup." The group claims this period allows lawmakers to avoid public scrutiny and connect with lobbyists and donors, while constituents are less engaged.

The House recess, coinciding with Presidents Day, is typically a time for representatives to engage with their communities. Indivisible, however, is encouraging progressives to use this time for protests, asserting that Republicans aim to evade difficult questions regarding their alleged involvement in a "Trump and Musk coup."

The call to action comes amidst widespread criticism from the left regarding Musk's leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), under President Trump's direction. The department's efforts to streamline federal agencies have drawn ire, with concerns also raised about DOGE employees' access to sensitive data and their vetting process. Conversely, Republicans have expressed support for Musk's work, citing the need for decisive action to address the growing national debt.
Indivisible aims to hold every Republican accountable for their perceived complicity and "selling out their constituents." They are also urging Democrats to actively resist and oppose any budget that grants Musk and Trump control over government spending or includes what they consider "extremist cuts."

The group's guide outlines a "Tesla town hall" strategy, suggesting protests at Tesla locations to highlight Musk's alleged connection to the claimed "Trump coup." While advocating for these demonstrations, Indivisible explicitly advises activists to stay on public property and avoid disrupting business operations.
