Outfielder Starling Marte has been placed on the 10-day injured list by the New York Mets due to recurring migraines. The move, retroactive to Monday, was announced just as the Mets kicked off their final game against the Chicago White Sox. Marte has been absent from the lineup in four of the last five games, and while manager Buck Showalter recently indicated Marte's condition was improving, the outfielder consulted a specialist and underwent a scan on Wednesday.

This season, Marte, in the second year of a four-year, $78 million contract, has a .254 batting average with five home runs, 28 RBIs, and 24 stolen bases in 84 games. His performance marks a dip from his 2022 statistics, where he boasted a .292 average, 16 home runs, 63 RBIs, and 18 stolen bases over 118 games.

The Mets, currently holding a 45-50 record, have not yet revealed who will fill Marte's spot on the roster.
