Singer-songwriter Laura Warshauer, a University of St Andrews alumna, offers a unique glimpse into the early days of Prince William and Kate Middleton's relationship. Warshauer, author of "My Creativity is Killing Me: The Courage to Be Creative Workbook," shared her memories with Fox News Digital, providing heartwarming anecdotes about the future royal couple's time at university.
Warshauer recounted a telling incident at a birthday party where Kate smoothly rescued William from an unwanted conversation. Seeing him struggling to politely excuse himself from a persistent admirer, Kate simply "walked across the room and put her arms around him," allowing William to gracefully exit the interaction. Warshauer emphasized that this gesture occurred very early in their acquaintance, highlighting their natural connection even before their romance blossomed.

Describing their dynamic, Warshauer noted the palpable chemistry between the pair, stating, "You just feel like these two people have known each other forever." She also praised Kate's down-to-earth nature, recalling shared experiences like studying art history, casual dorm room chats, and even Kate filming a soap opera audition tape for her.

Warshauer's memories paint a picture of a close-knit student life filled with shared meals, guitar lessons, and simple acts of kindness. She remembers William offering her a lift to the airport and even gifting her a small stuffed seal for her birthday. These small gestures, she says, showcased his grounded personality and genuine compassion.

Warshauer also recalled William bidding generously on a date with Kate at a Harry Potter-themed party, further illustrating their growing attraction. She believes their strong foundation of friendship played a key role in their enduring relationship. Reflecting on their time at St Andrews, Warshauer expresses gratitude for having witnessed the beginnings of this "iconic love story."
