Actor Tom Selleck, known for his roles in "Magnum P.I." and "Blue Bloods," recently marked his 80th birthday with a quiet celebration alongside his family. Just a day prior, the star was spotted enjoying a solo lunch at a McDonald's drive-thru in Thousand Oaks, California.
The low-key outing contrasted with the birthday dinner Selleck enjoyed with his wife, Jillie Mack, and their daughter, Hannah, at the upscale Italian restaurant Tuscany il Ristorante in Thousand Oaks. The couple, married since 1987, were seen holding hands after the celebratory meal. Selleck sported a relaxed attire of a dark red button-down, blazer, and jeans, while Jillie wore a striped maxi-dress and leather jacket.
In a previous interview, Selleck had mentioned his preference for low-key birthday celebrations, expressing his desire to simply have dinner with close family. He also discussed his future career plans following the conclusion of "Blue Bloods" after 14 seasons. The actor shared his interest in returning to the Western genre, a genre he has experience in with films like "Quigley Down Under" and "Monte Walsh." He also mentioned his openness to a "Blue Bloods" spin-off, but expressed a stronger desire to revisit his "Jesse Stone" character from the popular TV movie series.
Selleck acknowledged the difficulty of moving on from "Blue Bloods," emphasizing the close bonds formed with both the cast and crew. While unsure of his next project, he stated his desire to avoid simply replicating his "Blue Bloods" character. Selleck resides with his wife on a ranch in Ventura, California.
