Authorities have connected the deaths of four women whose bodies were discovered over a three-month period in and around Portland, Oregon. A person of interest has been identified in the ongoing investigation.
The Multnomah County District Attorney's office emphasized that no charges have been filed and the public is not believed to be in immediate danger. While officials stopped short of using the term "serial killer," they confirmed the existence of links between the four cases.
The bodies of the four women, identified as Kristin Smith, Charity Perry, Bridget Webster, and Ashley Real, were found between February and May of this year. Locations included Portland as well as the neighboring cities of Gresham and Milwaukie. Medical examiners are still working to determine the cause and manner of death for each woman.

A multi-agency investigation involving various law enforcement agencies and prosecutors led to the discovery of the connections between the cases. While local media outlets have reported a man is in custody, official sources have not confirmed this information.
