Former LGBT Activist Regrets Promoting Gender Ideology

Created: JANUARY 24, 2025

Kay Yang, a former transgender activist, has publicly expressed regret for her work at an LGBT Center, criticizing the agenda she once promoted. Previously a programmer, Yang joined the non-profit as an outreach and education coordinator, believing she would be providing valuable resources to the community. However, she soon discovered her role was primarily to be the “young, bubbly face” of a marketing campaign aimed at influencing her community.

Yang's responsibilities included conducting cultural sensitivity training at local schools, businesses, and organizations. These sessions focused on teaching new vocabulary and gender identity ideology. Yang now states that this terminology contributed to the erasure of female identity and undermined women's sex-based rights. She realized her work was inadvertently paving the way for the acceptance of the concept of the “trans child.”

Yang feels she was unknowingly used to normalize policies and practices that she believes cause irreversible medical harm to children. She also argues that these policies erode the rights of women and girls. Yang further alleges that the LGBT Center's funding from the New York State Department of Health was linked to the number of individuals identifying as LGBT. She claims her role involved compiling reports for these funders, and the higher the reported number of LGBT individuals, the more funding the center received. Yang believes these funds were then used for what she terms “public indoctrination initiatives” disguised as health and human services.

Yang's story adds to the growing debate surrounding gender ideology and its impact on children and women's rights.
