In her new memoir, "Cher: The Memoir, Part One," the iconic singer and actress Cher unveils startling details about her interactions with the late music producer Phil Spector. Cher alleges that Spector propositioned her for sex when she was only 15 years old, shortly after meeting her through her then-boyfriend, musician Antonino LoTempio.
Cher describes Spector's behavior as "weird" and recounts how he made the proposition in French, asking "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?" Her quick-witted response, "Oui, pour l’argent" (Yes, for the money), reportedly stunned the producer, who clearly hadn't anticipated her understanding and bold reply.

Years later, Cher confronted Spector over the unauthorized use of her vocals on a song released in Europe. He had used recordings by Cher and Harry Nilsson, intended as guide vocals for John Lennon, and released them commercially without their consent, breaching their contracts. During this encounter, Cher claims Spector attempted to intimidate her by brandishing a revolver. Unfazed, she stood her ground, leading to an apology from Spector and a resolution of the issue.

The memoir also delves into Cher's personal life, including her brief marriage to Gregg Allman. She describes their wedding day as devoid of romance and reveals that she filed for divorce just nine days later, though they later reconciled before ultimately separating in 1979. They share a son, Elijah Blue Allman, born in 1976.
