Three adults in North Carolina are facing charges related to a tragic ATV accident that claimed the lives of two teenagers in August 2024. The incident involved Rosman High School students Layne Jones and Jayden Reynaldo, who died after their ATV collided with a tree on Old Wagon Road in Rosman, NC.

Reports indicate the teens had attended a party on the same road the night of the fatal crash. Ashley Marie Darity, 35, has been indicted on two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the accident.

Two other individuals, Patricia Whitehead, 33, and Brandon Rathbone, 47, were recently arrested by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement. Whitehead faces two counts, and Rathbone one count, of aiding and abetting the underage purchase of alcohol. Court documents link these charges to the ATV accident, alleging that Whitehead and Rathbone supplied alcohol to minors and hosted an underage party, even assisting a female minor with a keg stand.

Darity has been released on a $20,000 bond and her legal representation has declined to comment. North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement has not responded to requests for information.
