Texas Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography and Weapons Charges

Created: JANUARY 04, 2025

A 22-year-old Texas resident, Noah Robert Calderon, has admitted guilt to possessing child pornography and an unregistered firearm. The Burleson man's illegal activities came to light following a tip to the FBI in October 2022 regarding his online activity, which revealed a disturbing interest in mass shootings, including the Columbine High School massacre. Calderon had also shared images of himself armed with rifles and wearing tactical gear.

Authorities received another tip in March 2023 alleging that Calderon had detonated a homemade explosive device in his neighborhood. A subsequent investigation into his online search history uncovered extensive research into local public schools, raising significant concerns. The search history also included inquiries related to bomb-making methods and the Columbine attackers.

Further investigation into Calderon's digital footprint uncovered sexually explicit videos involving a 13-year-old girl. Calderon admitted to knowing the child's age when he saved the videos. A search of his residence revealed a cache of bomb-making materials, including explosive powder, fuses, and metal ball bearings.

Calderon now faces a potential prison sentence of up to 30 years. The child pornography charge alone carries a maximum sentence of 20 years. Sentencing is scheduled for November 3rd. U.S. Attorney Leigha Simonton emphasized the Justice Department's proactive approach in addressing potential threats and praised the collaborative effort that led to Calderon's apprehension.
