President-Elect Trump Announces Key Administration Appointments

Former President Donald Trump has unveiled a series of appointments to his incoming administration, focusing heavily on the Treasury Department and ambassadorial roles. These selections, announced via Truth Social, highlight individuals with diverse backgrounds in finance, law, public relations, and business.

Leading the Treasury appointments is Ken Kies, a seasoned tax lawyer with extensive experience on Capitol Hill, who will assume the role of Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy. Trump also tapped Hunter McMaster as Director of Policy Planning and Daniel Katz, a Yale graduate and Manhattan Institute senior fellow, as Chief of Staff. Samantha Schwab, who served in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs during Trump's first term, will be Deputy Chief of Staff at Treasury.

Beyond the Treasury, Trump named several key ambassadors. Benjamin Leon James, a Cuban-American entrepreneur and philanthropist, will be the U.S. Ambassador to Spain. Joe Popolo, a successful businessman and recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, is slated for Ambassador to the Netherlands.

Rounding out the announcements, Cora Alvi, formerly the national deputy finance director for Trump's presidential campaign, will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff in the new administration.
