Despite facing a prostate cancer diagnosis, Doug Holiday, owner of Biggs BBQ in Lawrence, Kansas, is determined to uphold a cherished family tradition. For 21 years, the Holiday family has partnered with the First United Methodist Church to prepare Christmas Eve meals for those in need. This year, even amidst health challenges, Doug, a three-time cancer survivor, is committed to serving the community alongside his wife, Shawn, and their three sons.

Over two decades, the Holidays have cooked over 1,300 turkeys, providing meals for more than 20,000 people. This year's preparations are particularly poignant as Doug navigates his latest cancer battle. Having previously overcome Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and melanoma, Doug finds strength and purpose in continuing this tradition with his family. His sons, now grown, return each year to help, a testament to the enduring value of their family's commitment to giving back.
