Randi Mahomes, Patrick's mother, previously wore a "Make America Great Again" hat paired with a Chiefs sweatshirt during a game against the Buccaneers. This week in New Orleans, she expressed her belief that presidential support for major sporting events is a positive gesture.

In a Super Bowl interview, Trump also commended Patrick's wife, Brittney, for her support, which she initially expressed by liking one of his Instagram posts outlining the 2024 GOP platform.

Trump was also seen interacting with Chiefs player Chris Jones before the game. Despite this interaction, the Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22. The Chiefs' usually potent offense struggled significantly in the first half, managing only 34 total yards. Patrick Mahomes faced consistent pressure, resulting in two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown, and six sacks by the Eagles' defense.
