Following a devastating terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day, former Princeton football player Ryan Quigley, who suffered serious injuries and lost his close friend and teammate, Tiger Bech, will return to the city for Super Bowl LIX as an honored guest of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Initially invited to the Eagles' divisional round game, Quigley and Bech's sister were later surprised with an even greater opportunity: tickets to the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the very city where the tragedy occurred. In a video released by the team, Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham extended the invitation, acknowledging the emotional weight of the return.

Quigley had vowed never to revisit New Orleans after the attack, which marked his first and only time in the city. However, he reconsidered, remembering a promise he made to Bech, a Louisiana native, to take him to the Super Bowl if the Eagles made it. "I think, not letting evil win... we're going to go back to New Orleans and leave on a positive note," Quigley stated on the team's website.

The 26-year-old Quigley sustained broken bones in his leg, back, and face during the attack, requiring surgery and multiple days of hospitalization. He views his Super Bowl attendance as a chance to honor Bech's memory and share his story. "Everything that the Eagles have done...to helping us share his story, there's no words to describe it," Quigley expressed. He intends to continue sharing Bech's story, ensuring that the world knows "how special Tiger was."
