Wildfires sweeping through Los Angeles' Pacific Palisades neighborhood have caused significant damage to Palisades Charter High School, a frequent filming location for Hollywood productions. The Los Angeles Unified School District confirmed the fire, noting that the school is currently on winter break, so no immediate student or staff actions are necessary. The district pledged support to the school community. Palisades Charter High School has posted updates on its website regarding the spring semester schedule and advised students and families to avoid the area and heed evacuation orders.

The fire, fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds with gusts of 35-40 mph, significantly impacted the school's football stadium, score box, and baseball field. Several buildings also sustained damage. The fire's rapid spread prompted concern and evacuations in the surrounding area. The school, known for its notable alumni including will.i.am, J.J. Abrams, Steve Kerr, Forest Whitaker, and Katey Sagal, has served as the backdrop for numerous films and television shows like "Carrie" (1976), "Freaky Friday," "Crazy/Beautiful," and "Teen Wolf."

Actress Sara Foster shared a video on social media depicting the burning school, expressing her dismay. The widespread fires have forced around 30,000 residents to evacuate, impacting numerous homes, including those of several celebrities. Jamie Lee Curtis voiced concern about the fire's threat to her community and home, urging people to support each other and allow firefighters to work unimpeded. Reality TV personalities Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag confirmed the loss of their home via Snapchat. Other celebrities, like Chris Pratt, Candace Cameron Bure, and Derek Hough, also shared updates and concerns on social media, with Hough preparing to evacuate with his family and pets. A fifth wildfire, the Woodley Fire, has erupted in Encino, adding to the emergency. California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency, and widespread power outages have been reported.
