Despite the tragedy and heightened security, the Superdome was filled with fans as Notre Dame secured a 23-10 victory against Georgia, advancing in the College Football Playoff. The game's rescheduling and location were uncertain for a period, but ultimately, the event transpired without incident.

Following the game, Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard, named Offensive Player of the Game, expressed gratitude to the Fighting Irish fans for their attendance in the face of the city's recent trauma. He acknowledged the difficult week and offered prayers for the affected families, emphasizing the significance of the fans' support.

A moment of silence was observed before the game to honor the victims, followed by patriotic chants from the crowd after the national anthem. The attack has left the city reeling, and the game served as a moment of resilience and unity.

Reports indicate that Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. citizen from Texas, was killed in a shootout with police after the attack. His truck reportedly contained weapons and a potential improvised explosive device, with authorities indicating the discovery of other potential IEDs in the French Quarter.
