Tragic California Freeway Crash Claims Five Lives, Including Two Teenagers

A devastating single-vehicle collision on a Southern California interstate early Monday morning resulted in the loss of five lives, including two 15-year-olds. The incident occurred on Interstate 710 in north Long Beach just after 4 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Hyundai Sonata involved in the crash collided with an attenuator, a safety device designed to absorb impact, located in front of a concrete barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to erupt in flames. Authorities reported that some occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the car upon impact.

Two of the deceased have been identified as 15-year-old Long Beach residents George Dobbs and Ariahh Slemaker. The identities of the other three victims are yet to be released by the Los Angeles County coroner's office. The tragic accident caused substantial traffic congestion during the morning commute in the south Los Angeles County area.
