A pet wallaby has gone missing in Blanchard, Oklahoma, sparking a search in the surrounding wooded areas. The animal, smaller than a kangaroo, escaped its enclosure on Wednesday. City clerk Diana Daniels cautioned that while wallabies aren't typically aggressive, they might kick if cornered and could injure someone trying to capture them.

Although legal to own in Oklahoma with proper registration, this particular wallaby, owned by Gil Gilbreath, has yet to be registered with the city. Gilbreath, who uses the wallaby for petting zoos, described the animal as shy and "a little skittish." He believes the wallaby is likely hiding in the tall grass, a preferred hiding spot for the animal. Gilbreath expressed concern that the wallaby's skittish nature and lack of full domestication will make capturing it difficult once it's located.
