Comedian Jon Stewart recently criticized Elon Musk, suggesting the billionaire's justifications for declining a "Daily Show" interview are disingenuous. Musk, an advisor to President Donald Trump and head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), cited Stewart's alleged political bias as the reason for his refusal.
The exchange began after Stewart's segment last week targeting the Trump administration's spending cuts. During the segment, Stewart, in a moment of passionate criticism directed at DOGE for not challenging pharmaceutical companies, injured his hand by striking his desk with a mug. Musk seemed to take the gesture, and the segment in general, personally.

Stewart's core argument in the segment was that the government, not corporations, should be held accountable for subsidizing corporate greed.
Musk initially responded to a suggestion on X (formerly Twitter) that he appear on "The Daily Show" by stating he would only do so if the interview aired unedited. He further characterized Stewart as "set in his ways," having become more partisan and acting as a "propagandist."
Stewart countered Musk's claims by highlighting Musk's own political leanings, referencing Musk's self-designed "dark MAGA" hat worn during visits with President Trump in the Oval Office. He challenged Musk to simply admit his reluctance to appear rather than hiding behind accusations of bias.

Stewart reiterated his support for government efficiency and expressed his willingness to discuss the topic with Musk on the show. He concluded by dismissing Musk's stated reasons as "bull----."
Whether Musk will eventually appear on "The Daily Show" remains uncertain. Musk did not respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
