Body camera footage released by the Albion Department of Public Safety reveals a harrowing incident where officers rescued two young children from their mother, who allegedly attacked them in their Michigan home on Saturday, June 24th. The footage shows officers entering the residence and discovering 35-year-old Jessica Edward-Ricks holding her 2-year-old daughter underwater in a bathtub. Officers swiftly intervened, pulling the child from the water and administering life-saving CPR. The toddler, who also suffered stab wounds to her chest, began breathing again after officers' efforts. A 4-year-old boy in the house was also found with cuts, and authorities suspect both children may have ingested cleaning fluid. Edward-Ricks, the mother of four children aged 2, 4, 8, and 15, was taken into custody. The two older children were unharmed. The 15-year-old reportedly made the 911 call that alerted authorities to the situation. Edward-Ricks is facing multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder and child abuse. Both injured children are now in stable condition. Albion Police Chief Scott Kipp praised the responding officers for their rapid actions that saved the 2-year-old's life.
