In a terrifying incident in rural Ontario, a man bravely protected his wife from a polar bear attack. Early Tuesday morning, the couple went outside to locate their dogs and were confronted by the bear in their driveway. The bear lunged at the woman, prompting her husband to quickly intervene, jumping onto the animal.
The bear then turned on the man, inflicting serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his arm and leg. A neighbor, hearing the commotion, arrived with a firearm and shot the bear multiple times, causing it to retreat into the nearby woods where it died.
The injured man was taken to a local nursing station for treatment. Police have confirmed they are patrolling the area to ensure the safety of the community and to confirm no other bears are present.
