The victim, identified as George Heery Jr., was discovered on Delmont Drive Northeast in Atlanta struggling to breathe. Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The intense weather left a staggering 300,000 Georgia residents without power at its peak. Georgia Power promptly dispatched crews to evaluate the damage and initiate the restoration process.
