Following wildfire-related postponements, NBA games for the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are set to resume on Monday. Both teams had their Saturday games postponed due to the devastating Southern California wildfires.

The Lakers will host the San Antonio Spurs at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, while the Clippers will face the Miami Heat at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. The league confirmed the rescheduling of these games on Sunday, allowing both teams to proceed with their Monday matchups.

The initial Saturday games, featuring the Lakers against the Spurs and the Clippers against the Charlotte Hornets, were postponed due to the ongoing fires. This also included a previously scheduled Thursday Lakers game against the Hornets. Lakers star LeBron James expressed his concern on social media, hoping for a swift end to the "nightmare."

The Spurs faced logistical challenges, requiring a hotel change due to fire concerns, while the Heat arrived on Saturday night as planned. Both Los Angeles teams are also slated to host games on Wednesday, with the Lakers facing the Heat and the Clippers playing against the Brooklyn Nets.

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue acknowledged the difficulty of focusing on basketball amid the widespread devastation. He expressed hope that the return of games could offer a sense of normalcy and solace during a challenging time.

Clippers guard Terance Mann expressed his intention to contribute to relief efforts, planning to donate items from his storage unit. Several Clippers personnel were impacted by the fires, with some forced to evacuate their homes. Star forward Kawhi Leonard even left the team in Denver to assist his family's evacuation from Pacific Palisades.

Lakers coach JJ Redick shared his personal experience, recounting the devastating loss of his family's rental home in the fires. He described the scene as "complete devastation and destruction," expressing the profound impact of the loss.

The Lakers have organized a donation drive for upcoming games, starting Monday, encouraging fans to bring new, packaged items to support the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Their training center will also serve as a drive-thru donation center starting Tuesday, accepting essential non-food items and packaged food.

The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association have jointly pledged $1 million to aid relief efforts, contributing to organizations like the American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen, providing support to victims and recovery initiatives.
