In an exclusive operation with Fox News, ICE agents in Boston targeted and apprehended several individuals deemed serious threats to public safety. These included individuals associated with MS-13, wanted on Interpol Red Notices, and suspects in murder and rape cases. One detainee, a member of a Haitian gang with a string of 18 prior convictions, defiantly declared his refusal to return to Haiti and expressed his support for President Biden.
Patricia Hyde, Acting Field Office Director for ICE Boston, emphasized the success of the operation, stating that multiple significant public safety threats had been removed from the community. She highlighted the frustrating issue of some of these individuals having been previously released due to sanctuary policies, but affirmed ICE's commitment to locating and apprehending them regardless.
One notable arrest was a "collateral" arrest, where an undocumented individual accompanying a targeted MS-13 gang member was also taken into custody. This gang member had been released by a sanctuary jurisdiction earlier in the week, despite an ICE detainer. Former ICE Director Tom Homan had previously cautioned about the likelihood of such collateral arrests occurring in sanctuary jurisdictions.

These arrests have involved individuals with criminal backgrounds including sexual assault, domestic violence, drug and weapons offenses. The operations have spanned multiple states, targeting individuals from a wide range of countries.
