Sources indicate that Donalds, a staunch ally of former President Trump, has been actively communicating his intentions to potential donors and key figures within Florida's political landscape. Several of these discussions reportedly took place during the recent Florida GOP annual meeting in Orlando.

Donalds' hiring of Tony Fabrizio, a renowned Republican pollster who worked on Trump's presidential campaigns, further fuels speculation about his gubernatorial ambitions. This move, coupled with Donalds' increased discussions about a potential run, suggests a serious consideration of entering the 2026 race.

The Congressman, who has represented Florida's 19th Congressional District for four years, has been contemplating a gubernatorial bid for some time. In an earlier interview, Donalds acknowledged his interest, stating that he doesn't "rule anything out." Former President Trump previously hinted at Donalds' potential candidacy, suggesting that he would have "many friends in the race" should he decide to run.
