Federal Agents Detain Nearly 50 Suspected Illegal Immigrants in Colorado Raid Targeting Venezuelan Gang

Created: JANUARY 26, 2025

In an early morning operation on Sunday, federal agents apprehended approximately 50 individuals suspected of being illegal immigrants in Adams County, Colorado. The operation, targeting the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA), involved the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The raid focused on an "invite-only" establishment described as a "makeshift nightclub" where authorities believed numerous individuals associated with the TdA gang were present. Drugs, weapons, and cash were reportedly confiscated during the operation.

Images shared on social media by the DEA depicted individuals in handcuffs lined up in the snow. While the DEA stated that many of those detained were linked to the TdA gang from Venezuela, a precise breakdown was not provided.

This operation aligns with the Trump administration's focus on deportations, with an initial emphasis on apprehending criminal illegal immigrants nationwide, as spearheaded by border czar Tom Homan. Previous ICE raids under the Trump administration have been reported in various locations across the country, leading to the detention of hundreds of illegal immigrants. Deportation flights have also commenced, with the White House confirming this development. President Trump recently indicated that retaliatory measures would be taken against Colombia for its refusal to accept two deportation flights.
