Created: JANUARY 27, 2025

Bethany Mandel, co-author of "Stolen Youth" and mother of six, recounted unsettling experiences with protesters during the recent Moms for Liberty summit in Philadelphia. She described the protests as a "hate-filled siege" driven by aggressive leftist activists.

Mandel detailed how protesters, some holding signs with messages like "Stop homophobia" and "God is trans," gathered outside the Museum of the American Revolution as attendees arrived. She alleges they shouted threats, including remarks about taking her six-month-old baby, whom she was carrying. Mandel stated she interpreted these comments as threats, though she didn't feel personally frightened.

Mandel also shared a suspicious encounter with a museum staffer who later appeared to be embracing a protester. This same individual, along with a friend, allegedly continued to harass Mandel and her group, repeating the concerning remarks about her child.

Another incident involved a protester known as "Billboard Chris," who, wearing a sign reading "Children cannot consent to puberty blockers," reportedly breached a police barricade before being apprehended. Despite these confrontations, Mandel emphasized the positive atmosphere of the summit, highlighting the attendees' resilience and focus on their mission to protect children.

She described the attendees as "joyful warriors" and noted that the Marriott staff ultimately cheered them on, seemingly rejecting the protesters' attempts to label them negatively. Mandel believes the weekend showcased how determined mothers can effectively counter harassment and misinformation.

The summit, which featured prominent speakers like Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Asa Hutchinson, and Vivek Ramaswamy, was preceded by controversy, including an alleged vandalism incident at the Museum of the American Revolution.
