Following the devastating crash of a medevac jet in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Friday evening, newly released photographs offer a glimpse inside the aircraft before the tragedy. Jet Rescue Air, the operator of the medical transport, shared images depicting what they described as a “flying ICU setting.”
The photos reveal a stretcher prepared for a patient, complete with a white sheet and an array of medical equipment for monitoring and care. Two seats flank the stretcher, with two additional seats positioned near the foot. The aircraft was transporting a pediatric patient and her mother, along with four crew members, all Mexican nationals. The flight was en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri from Northeast Philadelphia Airport when the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. near Roosevelt Mall.

The company also released an image of a black box, clarifying that it is not the one from the crashed jet, but an example of what investigators are searching for. The black box records pilot conversations with the tower and between the pilots themselves, making it a crucial piece of evidence in determining the cause of the crash.

Prior to the crash, Jet Rescue Air’s managing director of corporate strategy and communications, Shai Gold, reported no indication of problems with the aircraft. Gold emphasized the Learjet 55’s “impeccable” maintenance records, stating the company adheres strictly to manufacturer specifications. He also highlighted the extensive experience of the flight crew, describing them as “the best of the best.”
