The District Attorney's office alleges Price voted on development projects while holding undisclosed financial interests. He is also accused of improperly using city funds to pay for his current wife's medical benefits while still married to another woman. Prosecutors claim Price's wife received over $150,000 in payments between 2019 and 2021 from developers connected to projects he supported with his vote. D.A. Gascón emphasized the investigation's thoroughness and the importance of upholding government integrity and public trust.

Price faces five counts of embezzlement, three counts of perjury, and two counts of conflict of interest. This arrest follows a string of corruption cases within the Los Angeles City Council. Mark Ridley-Thomas was convicted of conspiracy, bribery, and fraud in March 2023. José Huizar pleaded guilty to RICO Act conspiracy and tax evasion in January. Mitchell Englander was convicted in 2021 for attempting to conceal gifts and services received from business interests.

This ongoing series of corruption cases raises serious concerns about the integrity and ethical conduct of Los Angeles City Council members.
