Pepsi Introduces 'Colachup': A Soda-Infused Ketchup for Hot Dogs

Created: JANUARY 18, 2025

Get ready for a unique condiment experience this Fourth of July! Pepsi has launched "Colachup," a ketchup infused with the flavor of their iconic soda. This new offering aims to redefine the hot dog experience by combining the sweetness and citrus notes of Pepsi with the traditional tang of ketchup.

Yankee Stadium is one of the select venues offering Colachup.

While enjoying a Pepsi alongside a hot dog is common, Pepsi is venturing into uncharted territory by incorporating its signature flavor directly into a condiment. The company believes this innovative creation will elevate the enjoyment of America's favorite ballpark snack.

Developed in partnership with the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Colachup is designed to complement the smoky flavors of a hot dog. According to David Kamen, director of client experience for CIA Consulting, "The distinctive flavors and vibrant citrus blend of Pepsi enhances the bright and tangy characteristics of ketchup, offsetting the smokiness of the hot dog."

Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, will also feature Colachup.

This isn't Pepsi's first foray into enhancing classic foods with its soda. The company has previously explored similar concepts with burgers and pizza. For this Fourth of July, baseball fans at select stadiums – Chase Field (Arizona), Yankee Stadium (New York), Target Field (Minnesota), and Comerica Park (Detroit) – will have the exclusive opportunity to try Colachup and decide if hot dogs are indeed #BetterWithPepsi.
