The debate surrounding the NFL's elite quarterbacks is a constant, with names like Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow frequently tossed into the ring. However, when asked about his perspective on the league's best, Burrow himself pointed to Mahomes as the current king.

Despite being a year younger than Mahomes and having previously defeated him in the AFC Championship game to secure a Super Bowl appearance, Burrow acknowledges Mahomes' impressive resume, which includes three All-Pro selections, two Super Bowl victories, and two Super Bowl MVP awards. Burrow stated unequivocally, "I don’t think there’s any argument right now. It’s Pat until somebody has a better year than he’s had. He’s the one to knock off."
While the Bengals hold a 3-1 record against Mahomes and the Chiefs since Burrow joined the league, Mahomes led the Chiefs to victory in this year's AFC title game and Super Bowl LVII, overcoming an ankle injury to deliver a strong performance with 326 passing yards and two touchdowns. In contrast, Burrow struggled in that game, throwing for 270 yards and one touchdown, but also giving up two interceptions under pressure from the Chiefs' defense.

Other prominent quarterbacks, like Josh Allen, echo Burrow's sentiment, acknowledging Mahomes' dominance. Allen recently stated, "Until me or Joey or anybody else can win a Super Bowl, I think Pat's kind of the clear No. 1 right now... He's been playing at such a high level for so long, and he's got the rings to kind of prove it."

Although Burrow acknowledges Mahomes' current standing, he maintains his personal ambition to reach the pinnacle of the sport, saying, "The top of the mountain is always the goal, personally and team-wise."
