The Kansas City Chiefs' quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl title met a formidable roadblock in the form of the Philadelphia Eagles, who delivered a commanding 40-22 victory on Sunday. The Chiefs' typically high-powered offense, led by Patrick Mahomes, was stifled by the Eagles' relentless defense. Mahomes endured six sacks, threw two interceptions, and managed just 257 passing yards.

Following the decisive win, Eagles defensive tackle Milton Williams shed light on the team's motivation, revealing that the Chiefs' pre-game discussions of a potential "three-peat" added fuel to their fire. Williams dismissed the talk, emphasizing the Eagles' determination to prove themselves.

Earlier reports indicated that the Chiefs had reached an agreement with Miami Heat President Pat Riley, who holds trademarks related to the term "three-peat," allowing Kansas City to use the term if they secured a third straight title. However, the NFL later clarified that the league was not involved in this agreement. Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham suggested that the "three-peat" discussions served as a motivating factor for Philadelphia, who felt overlooked and determined to make a statement.
