According to the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office in Austin, Texas, actor Cody Longo, known for his roles in "Days of Our Lives" and "Hollywood Heights," passed away in February at the age of 34 due to chronic alcohol abuse. The official cause of death was listed as "chronic ethanol abuse."
Longo's body was discovered in his residence approximately three weeks after he was last seen alive. The autopsy report indicated the presence of "numerous bottles of alcohol" at the scene, corroborating reports from family members regarding his history of substantial alcohol consumption. Toxicology tests further confirmed the presence of ethanol and acetone.

Longo's passing leaves behind his wife, Stephanie, and their three children. In a statement released after his death, Stephanie expressed the family's profound grief, describing Longo as "the best dad and best father." His representative, Alex Gittelson, also shared a tribute, remembering Longo as a "loyal, loving and talented person."

Beyond his prominent role in "Days of Our Lives," Longo also appeared in television series such as "Nashville," "Medium," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," and "CSI: NY." In 2021, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor simple assault charge in Colorado, stemming from a 2019 incident involving a minor. The charge was later dismissed. He was also arrested in 2020 for domestic assault following an alleged altercation with his wife, though he denied the accusations.
