During a Friday morning downpour in downtown Omaha, two men, identified as public workers, were swept into a manhole. The incident occurred near the Old Market area shortly after 9 a.m., according to a statement by Lt. Neal Bonacci of the Omaha Police Department, as reported by the Omaha World-Herald.
One worker was swiftly rescued from the manhole, while the other was located further down the storm sewer system, closer to the Missouri River. Details regarding their conditions following the rescue were not immediately available.
