Tragic Plane Crash at Polish Skydiving Center Claims Five Lives

A devastating incident unfolded on Monday at a skydiving center in Chrcynno, central Poland, resulting in five fatalities and eight injuries. A Cessna 208 aircraft crashed into a hangar amidst severe weather conditions.

The pilot and four individuals seeking shelter from the storm within the hangar perished in the collision. Eight others sustained injuries, two of which were classified as serious, including a child. Chrcynno is situated approximately 28 miles northwest of Warsaw.

Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Rescue teams meticulously searched the hangar wreckage for any additional victims. Authorities, including prosecutors and police, have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the tragic accident.

This event marks the most severe skydiving-related catastrophe in Poland since 2014 when eleven lives were lost in a small plane crash near Czestochowa.
