Rumors of a pre-planned fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson intensified after an incident at their weigh-in where Tyson slapped Paul. While many speculated about the altercation's authenticity, ring girl Sydney Thomas's seemingly impassive reaction further fueled these suspicions. Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the organizers, have vehemently denied any manipulation, echoing previous statements about the fight's legitimacy.
MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian reinforced this stance in an interview, emphasizing the fight's genuine nature. However, the weigh-in incident, where Tyson claimed Paul stepped on his toe, created a chaotic scene, requiring intervention to separate the two fighters. The ring girls' composed demeanor amidst the commotion was interpreted by some as a sign of premeditation.

Thomas, whose social media presence has significantly grown since the event, clarified her lack of reaction in a recent interview. She explained that maintaining a neutral expression is part of her professional duty as a ring girl. Their role is to remain in the background and avoid overt reactions, regardless of the unfolding events.
"Our job is to stand there and smile," Thomas stated, emphasizing the need to maintain composure for the numerous photos taken during such events. Despite the unexpected slap, Thomas prioritized her professional obligations, focusing on maintaining her appearance for the cameras.

MVP has strongly refuted any allegations of a rigged fight, citing legal ramifications and reputational damage. Bidarian stressed that staging such an event would be a federal offense, jeopardizing the careers and freedom of everyone involved, including the fighters and the company itself. He reiterated the professionalism of all Jake Paul's fights, particularly the one against Tyson.
