In a chilling incident reminiscent of online predator cases like Alicia Kozakiewicz's abduction in 2002, a Philadelphia bartender vanished without a trace after being forced into an SUV at gunpoint on March 31st. Wey Um, 48, was last seen walking home from his shift at the Oxford Tavern around 2 a.m. when the abduction occurred on Godfrey Avenue in Northwest Philadelphia. Witnesses reported seeing two men exit the black SUV, believed to be a newer model Ford Explorer, and force Um inside at gunpoint.
Authorities are deeply concerned about Um's well-being, as there has been no contact from him since the incident. A generous anonymous donor, working through the Citizens Crime Commission of Delaware Valley, has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that could lead to Um's location.

The investigation has uncovered a potentially related incident from earlier in March. Surveillance footage shows a masked individual, dressed in sweatpants and brandishing a firearm, robbing Um of $10,000 on Oxford Avenue. While this robbery was not initially reported, investigators are exploring a possible connection to the abduction.

Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore has expressed uncertainty about the motive behind the abduction, questioning whether it was solely a robbery or something more sinister. The targeted nature of the abduction, with the perpetrators seemingly lying in wait for Um, has raised significant concerns.

Described as a kind and well-liked individual, Um worked seven days a week at the Oxford Tavern. Regulars at the bar have expressed their shock and worry, highlighting his friendly nature and dedication to his work. The FBI has joined the Philadelphia Special Victims Unit in the search for Um. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities immediately.
