Nearly three decades after the tragic death of 6-year-old JonBenét Ramsey, her father, John Ramsey, continues his tireless pursuit of justice. He recently met with Boulder Police Department Chief Stephen Redfearn to discuss the ongoing investigation and advocate for the use of cutting-edge DNA technology.

This meeting, part of Ramsey's annual discussions with Boulder police, focused on the potential involvement of an independent laboratory specializing in advanced DNA analysis. Ramsey expressed his hope that the department would embrace this opportunity, emphasizing the importance of exploring every available avenue in the search for JonBenét's killer.

Ramsey's plea stems from the significant advancements in genetic genealogy databases and DNA analysis techniques over the past decade. He believes that retesting existing evidence, including external male DNA identified in 1997, along with previously untested items, could provide crucial breakthroughs in the case. Among these items are a garrote, a ransom note, a suitcase potentially used by the perpetrator, a flashlight, and rope found in Burke Ramsey's room.

While acknowledging the complexity of DNA analysis, Ramsey stressed the necessity of utilizing the most advanced technology available. He expressed his willingness to accept the outcome, even if the results prove inconclusive, but emphasized the importance of exhausting all possibilities. He stated, "Until we do that, we haven't done everything that could be done."

The Boulder Police Department has amassed a vast amount of evidence and reports in the JonBenét Ramsey case, and they have received guidance from the Colorado Cold Case Review team. Despite the passage of time, the investigation remains active, and John Ramsey remains committed to finding answers and bringing closure to this tragic chapter.
