Gingrich Criticizes Yellen's China Trip, Questions Biden Administration's Motives

Created: JANUARY 27, 2025

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has sharply criticized Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's recent trip to China, characterizing it as a "fantasy" and expressing concerns about the Biden administration's foreign policy approach. Gingrich, a senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, questioned whether the administration is genuinely naive or compromised, labeling it the "most corrupt" in history.

Yellen's visit to Beijing marks the second high-profile diplomatic mission from the Biden administration in recent weeks, intended to de-escalate tensions between the U.S. and China. However, Gingrich views these efforts with skepticism. He expressed concerns about Yellen's grasp of the situation, suggesting she may be operating under a delusion. He also pointed to Secretary of State Antony Blinken's financial ties to the University of Pennsylvania, which Gingrich alleges received funding from China, further fueling his suspicions.

Gingrich argues that the Biden administration's actions are either rooted in a fundamental misunderstanding of the situation or represent a deliberate move towards bolstering Chinese communist influence. He believes this poses a significant threat to the United States. He expressed a degree of optimism, however, suggesting that growing public awareness of these issues, fueled by investigations from House Republicans, could lead to a turning point.
