A devastating collision between a bus and a truck in northern Japan's Hokkaido prefecture has resulted in the loss of five lives and left twelve others injured. The incident occurred on Sunday, with the bus carrying fifteen passengers at the time. Initial reports from Kyodo news agency suggest the truck may have crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to the tragic crash.

Emergency services transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Footage aired by NTV depicted the heavily damaged vehicles at the crash site. The bus was en route from Sapporo to Hakodate, while the truck, carrying a load of pigs, was traveling from Hakodate to Yakumo. Sadly, both drivers perished in the accident.
