Tech mogul Elon Musk, a prominent ally of former President Trump, is reportedly exploring the acquisition of Liverpool, a renowned English Premier League football club. Liverpool, widely recognized by its nickname "The Reds," boasts a rich history with numerous titles, including 19 league championships, eight FA Cups, a record-breaking 10 League Cups, and sixteen FA Community Shields.
The club's international achievements are equally impressive, holding English records for six European Cups, three UEFA Cups, four UEFA Super Cups, and one FIFA Club World Cup. As of May 2024, Forbes estimated Liverpool's value at $5.37 billion, ranking it as the fourth most valuable football team globally.

Errol Musk, Elon's father, recently hinted at his son's interest in purchasing the club during an interview with Times Radio, although he stopped short of confirming a definite bid. While acknowledging the appeal of owning such a prestigious team, he also noted the potential for the asking price to inflate as a result of the interest. Fenway Sports Group, the current owner of Liverpool, has denied the rumors, stating there's "no truth" to them.

In 2023, Fenway Sports Group sold a minority stake in Liverpool to Dynasty Equity, a U.S. investment firm. At the time, Mike Gordon, president of Fenway Sports Group, expressed openness to future investment opportunities that would strengthen the club's financial stability and growth. Errol Musk mentioned family connections to Liverpool and a past acquaintance with members of the Beatles.

Since the election of the Labour Party in July, Elon Musk has been vocal about British politics, using his social media platform, X, to advocate for a new election. This potential venture into sports ownership follows Musk's already significant influence in the political arena.
