Isaiah Mobley's outstanding performance, with 28 points and 11 rebounds, propelled the Cleveland Cavaliers to a resounding 99-78 victory over the Houston Rockets in the NBA Summer League championship game on Monday. This win marks the Cavaliers' first Summer League title since the tournament format was adopted in 2013.

Mobley, who wasn't selected for the all-tournament team, earned the game MVP award. Sam Merrill also shone for the Cavaliers, sinking six 3-pointers on his way to 27 points, while Emoni Bates contributed 19 points. The Cavaliers finished the Summer League undefeated with a 6-0 record.

Despite Nate Hinton's double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets, along with double-digit scoring contributions from Cam Whitmore (14 points, tournament MVP), Trevor Hudgins (13), and Fletcher Magee (10), Houston couldn't match Cleveland's firepower. The Rockets concluded their Summer League run with a 5-1 record.

Mobley, a 2022 second-round draft pick, showcased his clutch abilities throughout the tournament, including a game-winning shot in overtime against the Brooklyn Nets in the semi-finals. Merrill, a first-team all-tournament selection, continued his history of success at the Thomas & Mack Center, echoing his game-winning shot for Utah State in the 2020 Mountain West tournament.
