The body of photographer Joseph Neill, who disappeared along the Oregon coast three weeks prior, has been discovered, according to authorities. Workers at the Clausen Oysters farm contacted officials around 9:30 a.m. Sunday after spotting what they believed to be a body in Haynes Inlet during low tide. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office retrieved the remains, later confirming the identity as Neill.
Neill's body was found approximately 1.5 miles inland from a railroad bridge crossing Coos Bay at Jordan Point. His personal effects were initially located at this bridge on December 15th, the same day he was reported missing. Neill had left his residence to capture photographs of the king tides at Horsefall Beach but never returned.

A Facebook group dedicated to the search for Neill, "JoeStrong," indicated that the high tides likely carried him inland after he fell. One of Neill's children described him as someone with survival skills, capable of improvising solutions in challenging situations.

The Neill family expressed gratitude for the search efforts and community support in a Facebook post. Their business, The Electric Hospital, was closed on Monday to mourn Neill's passing. The family encouraged the public to visit the store when it reopened on Tuesday and to remember him fondly. They also suggested honoring Neill by embarking on an adventure with loved ones and appreciating the natural world.
