The Las Vegas Raiders have appointed seasoned coach Pete Carroll to lead their team, marking a significant shift after a challenging period. Following a disappointing 4-13 season and the subsequent dismissal of interim head coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Tom Telesco, the Raiders are looking for a fresh start.

Carroll, who most recently served as an advisor for the Seattle Seahawks after a successful 14-season tenure as their head coach, brings a wealth of experience to Las Vegas. His time with the Seahawks included two Super Bowl appearances, culminating in a championship victory. Prior to Seattle, Carroll spent a decade coaching USC, leading the Trojans to two national championship games and winning one. He also has NFL head coaching experience with the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

The Raiders have reportedly signed Carroll to a three-year contract with a team option for a fourth. This move marks the fourth head coaching change for the Raiders since 2020, following Jon Gruden, Josh McDaniels, and Antonio Pierce, with Rich Bisaccia also serving as interim head coach after Gruden's resignation. Carroll's arrival comes as the Raiders hold the sixth overall pick in the upcoming draft, a position that underscores their need for a quarterback. With top prospects like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders expected to be selected early, the Raiders face a crucial decision.

Carroll's extensive coaching history includes four Rose Bowl victories with USC and five division titles with Seattle. He now faces the challenge of revitalizing the Raiders and guiding them back to contention.
