Move over, Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz! There's a new compact truck in town, and it's entirely electric. California-based startup, Telo, has unveiled a miniature electric pickup truck that rivals the size of a Mini Cooper, but boasts impressive hauling capabilities and performance.
Measuring a mere 152 inches, this diminutive pickup packs a punch with a 500 hp dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. Telo claims the truck can achieve 0-60 mph in a mere four seconds, reaching a top speed of 125 mph. These figures place its acceleration squarely in sports car territory.

This four-door marvel features an innovative reconfigurable design. A drop-down wall between the cabin and bed allows the cargo floor to extend over the folded rear and front passenger seats, maximizing cargo space. Adding to its practicality, a storage compartment stretches beneath the bed, reminiscent of the Rivian R1T's Gear Tunnel.

The Telo's versatility extends beyond its truck configuration. By adding a cap over the bed, it transforms into a three-row SUV, complete with rumble-style seats integrated into the floor of the cap. This adaptability caters to a wider range of needs, making it suitable for both hauling cargo and transporting passengers.

The Telo's design benefited from the expertise of Yves Behar, a renowned designer known for his work on diverse products, ranging from Bluetooth headphones to laptops. His influence likely contributes to the Telo's sleek and modern aesthetic.
Powered by a substantial 106 kWh battery pack, the Telo aims for a 350-mile range on a single charge. While impressive, this large battery pack contributes to the vehicle's $49,999 price tag.
Interested buyers can reserve a Telo with a $152 deposit. The company plans to initially hand-build 500 vehicles before scaling up production with a mechanized assembly line in 2026. A prototype is slated for a public demonstration this summer.
