According to the Czech ski federation, Nova will remain in the coma for as long as the medical team deems necessary. The federation expressed their support, stating, "We are all thinking of Tereza and wish her a speedy recovery and lots of strength."

The 26-year-old athlete competed in four events at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, with her highest placement being 14th in both the women's alpine combined and the mixed team parallel events. She also participated in the women's downhill (finishing 28th) and the women's Super-G (finishing 33rd).

Nova's World Cup career began in November 2019, although she didn't advance past the first round of the slalom event in Levi. Her initial international competition experience dates back to December 2014, followed by participation in the Junior World Championships in Val di Fassa in 2019.
