Actress Christy Carlson Romano recently experienced a near-tragedy while celebrating her husband's birthday with a clay pigeon shooting outing. A stray shot from another party on the range struck her in the face, hitting five areas including just below her eye.

In a social media post, Romano expressed her gratitude for surviving the incident, calling it a "miracle" that she wasn't blinded. She shared a video from her doctor, who explained how remarkably the shot missed critical parts of her eye, coming within a millimeter of causing permanent blindness. The lead fragment lodged near her eye must remain in place, as removal could risk her vision.

Romano, known for her role in "Even Stevens," initially shared images of the injury on Saturday, describing the incident where another group fired unsafely in the wrong direction. She emphasized the importance of cherishing loved ones, as life can change drastically in moments. The injury resulted in bruising and a subconjunctival hemorrhage, but thankfully, her eye itself remained undamaged.

While doctors anticipate a full recovery, Romano may be unable to undergo MRIs in the future due to the lead fragment. Another fragment lodged in her skull will also remain to promote healing. She is currently resting and recovering, expressing appreciation for the support she's received.
