Retired university associate dean and mother of three, Nina Cash, strutted her stuff alongside fellow Sports Illustrated Swim Search finalist Berkleigh Wright at the dazzling Miami Swim Week Runway Show. Held at the W Hotel South Beach on July 7th, the event was a showcase of stunning swimwear and inspiring stories.
Cash, 56, showcased her confidence in a chic black Sports Illustrated one-piece and a vibrant blue two-piece by Left on Friday. Wright, a Broncos cheerleader, embraced the mermaidcore trend with a netted white string bikini from It’s Now Cool and a shimmering azure bandeau top paired with high-cut bottoms from ALT Swim.
The runway show also featured established SI Swimsuit models like Brooks Nader and Camille Kostek, alongside other Swim Search finalists making their debut. Cash and Wright were among seven newcomers who graced the catwalk, joining Achieng Agutu, Sharina Gutierrez, Penny Lane, Brittney Nicole, and Jena Sims.
The annual SI Swim Search provides an opportunity for aspiring models to break into the industry. Public voting is open until August 31st, allowing readers to choose their favorite contender. Cash, inspired by previous "oldest rookie" Kathy Jacobs, emphasized that age is no barrier to pursuing one's dreams. She shared her journey of applying for the competition, encouraged by her husband, and highlighted the importance of embracing life experiences.
Wright, a technical account manager and analyst, cited Camille Kostek as her inspiration for entering the competition. She admired Kostek's journey from NFL cheerleader to SI Swimsuit cover model and aimed to demonstrate that women can excel in diverse fields. Wright emphasized the importance of representation and empowering women to pursue their passions.
This year's SI Swimsuit issue featured Martha Stewart as the oldest cover model to date, further reinforcing the message of inclusivity and celebrating women of all ages.
